Variety Description
Brogdon The high quality Brogdon avocado is black, smooth skinned and weighs about 8 to 12 ounces. The pulp is firm and has a delicious nutty flavor. This medium-sized, slender tree is cold tolerant to 22 degrees and produces July through September. The trees generally set fruit the third year. This tree prefers full sun, adequate moisture and good drainage.
Choquette The Choquette avocado produces large 24 to 40 ounce fruits. The oval, smooth-skinned fruit is a glossy green. The flesh is delicious and is of high quality with 13% oil. The tree is medium-sized, spreading, and makes a nice shade tree. The Choquette prefers full sun and good drainage and adequate moisture.
Day The Day avocado is about 16 ounces, green, with a smooth skin and is shaped like a club. The fruit is of very good quality and has a nice buttery consistancy. The slender tree is very cold tolerant and produces July through September. The Day prefers full sun, adequate moisture and good drainage. This tree should set fruit within 3 years.
Red Fairchild The Red Fairchild avocado was developed by Fairchild Gardens a few years ago. It produces a beautiful, red-skinned fruit of excellent quality that is very tasty.
Winter Mexican The Winter Mexican will not only provide you with delicious fruit, it will provide you with a large beautiful shade tree. This variety has thin, tender skin that clings to the firm, tasty flesh. The pulp has a high oil content, up to 30%. The tree is cold tolerant to 22 degrees. It prefers full sun, adequate moisture and good drainage.

PLEASE don't plant your avocados where there isn't enough drainage for them. Don't let your avocado trees stand in water for more than 24 hours!
