Sapodilla Blossom
Sapodilla Tree
Sapodilla Fruit
This is a very dense, beautiful tree that grows up to about 40'. Its thick leaves are evergreen. Some varieties produce fruit all year round. However, it is not very cold hardy, and young trees can freeze at around 30 degrees. It requires full sun and is quite salt tolerant. This is a great tree for those on the barrier islands because of its salt tolerance and wind resistance. The fruit is very sweet, and tastes like brown sugar!
